Galleria Rossella Colombari
Rossella Colombari was born in Turin into a family of prestigious antique dealers. In 1980, she founded the Galleria Colombari and focused her attention on the discovery and research of works by the Italian architect Carlo Mollino.
Galleria Colombari, based in Milan, has dealt for over three decades with pieces from the most important Italian designers of the twentieth century, such as Giò Ponti, Carlo Mollino, Carlo Graffi, Ico Parisi, Franco Albini, Osvaldo Borsani, Guglielmo Ulrich, Andrea Branzi, Ettore Sottsass and Alessandro Mendini. The gallery has actively promoted their work on the national and international markets.
The gallery has more recently begun to expand its horizons by dealing in furniture pieces by American designers from the 1960s and 1970s, such as the works of Paul Evans, Philip & Kelvin Laverne and Phillip Lloyd Powell.
Galleria Rossella Colombari, after 34 years of activity in the field of twentieth century Italian design, is pleased to present this year at Design Miami/ Basel a selection of true Italian masterpieces by Carlo Mollino, Giò Ponti, Ico Parisi, Franco Albini, Osvaldo Borsani, Fontana Arte and Ettore Sottsass.
Each piece has been specifically selected and represents the best examples of each designer’s work. In this light, the gallery exclusively exhibits pieces which meet specific criteria: rarity, provenance from private homes and collections, pieces made on commission, prototype designs and/or pieces in excellent original condition.
