Galleri Feldt
Established in 2010, Galleri Feldt is a gallery for original, fine works of modern design located in Copenhagen and Berlin. The gallery focuses mainly on works by Danish architects produced between 1920 and 1970.
The exhibition space in Copenhagen has a regular program of exhibitions focused on historical modern Nordic design from the last century. In 2013, it began collaborating with the award-winning contemporary artist Danh Vo to present modern design from a novel perspective.
In 2014, they opened a satellite gallery in partnership with Vo in Schöneberg, Berlin, which features works by his artistic colleague Leonor Antunes, as well as his own contributions. This resulted in an installation of Danish modern furniture, contemporary works, and objects of curiosity presented as one installation; it connects historical and contemporary design to draw out new ways of looking at design from the rich vocabulary of contemporary art and its reference points.
For its first exhibition with Design Miami/Basel, Galleri Feldt is delighted to present an artist-curated approach to a design showcase. By featuring important historical pieces of design along with contemporary works, the gallery aims to shift focus to other aspects of the works’ creation in light of the rather iconic status that the modern works have achieved in recent years.
