Erastudio & Apartment Gallery
Erastudio & Apartment Gallery was born in 2010 from the experience and professionalism of architect Patrizia Tenti, founder of the gallery.
The philosophy of Erastudio - “design as architecture” - transpires from the structure of its two spaces in the historical building of Via Palermo 5 in Milan.
The gallery offices are located in an apartment on the third floor while the gallery itself is located in the “former stables” in the courtyard of the building. Each space is restored according to the concept "less is more". In addition, the name “Erastudio Apartment” recalls the influences of a past atmosphere where the design works are contextualized.
The gallery focuses exclusively on unique pieces, prototypes, artist’s proofs, limited editions and special projects in exclusivity for its clients from Italian and international architects, including historical masters like Ettore Sottsass Jr., Carlo Scarpa, Mario Bellini, Napoleone Martinuzzi, Piero Fornasetti and Osvaldo Borsani as well as many young designers. Erastudio works in between architecture and site-specific design providing consultancy and assistance to the adaptation and interaction of the pieces in a peculiar environment.
This has given rise to unique collaborations with artist-architects such as Gaetano Pesce (presenting America Table at Design Miami/ 2012, a unique tribute to the Amerixan Presidential Elections), Vincenzo De Cotiis and Indian designer Gunjan Gupta for the realization of special projects designed exclusively for the gallery. Along this path the concept of design work approaches the concept of art work.
Since 2012 Erastudio has had a presence at the best fairs in the world of collectible design.
