Elisabetta Cipriani
Elisabetta Cipriani – Jewellery by Contemporary Artists invites renowned international sculptors and painters to create exclusive wearable sculptures with the use of precious materials. It is the first time that these artists have approached the realm of jewelry, establishing parallels with their artistic disciplines and poetics.
The creative process for these collaborations begins with persuading Elisabetta’s esteemed artists to create a one of a kind jewel.
The design for each of these collaboration projects starts from a sketch created by the artist, whilst the artists themselves or specialized goldsmiths based in Europe produce the final piece. The ultimate result is an exceptional jewel that encloses the most intimate expression of the artist.
These pieces are created exclusively for Elisabetta Cipriani in a series of 12 or as unique pieces.
Wearing artists’ jewelry enhances the individual and completes these extraordinary and unique pieces. Today artists’ jewelry appeals not only to art lovers and jewelry collectors but also attracts individuals with a desire to wear something exceptional.
Since 2009 this London-based gallery has exclusively collaborated with 16 distinctive contemporary artists including Avish Khebrehzadeh, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Enrico Castellani, Erwin Wurm, Giorgio Vigna, Jannis Kounellis, Rebecca Horn and Tatsuo Miyajima.
A selection of the gallery’s collaboration projects can be found today in museum and private collections all over the world, including Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris; Museum of Art and Design, New York; World Jewellery Museum, Seoul; and The State Hermitage Museum, St Petersburg. In addition, some of the collaboration projects are exhibited as part of the world itinerant exhibition From Picasso to Koons: The Artist as Jeweller, with the next show being held in 2017 at Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris.
